I started the Indie Pin Database because I absolutely love how such a tiny object can convey so much attitude and creativity. I collect pins. I am unashamed to admit that it has become a bit of an addiction. Not great for the piggy bank, but Oh, how it feeds my soul, these tiny bits of metal and color.
I wanted to make a single condensed space that connects pin collectors to pin creators. I'd found a few that were wholly devoted to Disney Pin Trading and one that was all about Olympic pins. I wanted something different, something just for independent artists.
Being only one person, compiling the database is going to take some time, so I hope you will be patient with me. And if you're willing, I could use your help! Help me track down pin creators to add to the database or find missing pins.
Here are some things I would like to post in the blog.
Stories by Pin Creators
-about their creative process
-about their favorite things
Stories by Pin Collectors
-why they started collecting pins
-favorite pins and what makes them important to them
-how they display their pins
Pindrop Alerts
-previews of new pin collections and when they will be added to an artist's shop
How to posts
-how are pins made
-How to make pin displays
I am really hoping to partner with some great creators and collectors to share amazing stories with you.
